Teen girl buried alive in family garden

A 16-year-old girl was buried alive as punishment for talking to boys, police said after recovering her body from a six-foot hole dug outside her home in the southeastern province of Adiyaman, Turkey.
Relatives of the girl, identified as “MM,” carried out an “honor killing,” reports The Guardian.
Police discovered the girl’s remains — in a sitting position, her hands tied — under a chicken pen.
The Turkish paper Hurriyet reported on its Web site that police were tipped off by an informant.
Both publications published a photo of the hole where the girl was buried.
The girl’s father and grandfather were reportedly arrested, but it is unclear if they have been charged. The girl’s mother was also arrested but later released.
The Guardian’s Robert Tait writes that, according to local media reports, a postmortem exam showed soil in the girl’s stomach and lungs.
The father had told relatives he was unhappy that his daughter had male friends, Tait writes.
Official figures indicate that approximately half of all murders in Turkey are “honor killings.” More than 200 such murders take place each year.

i read this in the paper today, its so sad, i cant believe they can do to there own family!
these old fashioned views of the old men that do these honour killings are disgusting. untill these crimes are gonna get recognised as real crimes and not a sacrifice of honour to these families, its never gonna stop.
i once watched a turkish music video, i cant even remember the singer im sorry, but it was a woman, and in this video there was a man (im guessing he was her father) was with her on a clipptop and with a gun in his hand and shot her. so for it to be in a music video it must be regular in villages in turkey.
this is discrasfull and puts bad views on turkey and not all of the turkish people are like that so it is unfair something seriously needs to be done !!! honour killing ive never heard anything so rediculouse and sick!! the people who done this should be killed them selves and never to see day light again ..SICK SICK MAN ..glad i live in england were people can be open and enjoy their life instead of living in fear a family should be there for you her family is a discrase !!!
