the mayor has a lot of questions to answer... what was the point of this... i know lets make a bigger beach, knock down all the tourists bars and make a big walkway to walk on instead we dont need a big walkway if the bars arent rebuilt... thanks anyway bobby for update and also eric! thanks for pics x :)

the beach walk way was a little over crowded at night , while sitting outside a bar one night i could see some guys using it as an excuse to brush up against girls or to push into drunken girls and then "catch" them as they overbalanced , and while walking along on two separate nights two young girls with me were almost grabbed on the bottom (i shouted at the guys who turned out to be from uk ..... girls are vunerable from all guys ) i also thought it would be hard to access if police or ambulance were required .
so im in favour of wider walkways , more street lighting would also be good around marmaris ,x

It's not 'we' jenna.. this larger walkway did not made just for the tourists.. remember that there are still turkish people living in Marmaris ?
when the sun shines here in wintertime and the temperature is nice, its full with turkish people walking there.. The old walkway was bad anyway with all the saggings.. it's not just the walkway over there, they're making through whole Marmaris new streets and walkways..
further i agree completely with irene.. in the old days it was always irritating and small if u walk with 4 people next to eachother.. another thing is that they make everything more accessible for vehicles, in case of emergency for example...

I have to agree with you here too.....sometimes in the summer season when its really busy along that walk way, I have felt uncomfortable because people are really squashed together and many a time, ive been bumped into delberatly by turkish men just so that you get their attention.

I also agree with Vjenne about emergency access and of course more room for the residence to walk along the beach front etc..... if you havent been to marmaris out of season you wouldnt understand this, but there are lots of turkish people that walk along the beach front when the weather is nice.
